DESIGN OF A DISH ANTENNA FOR PRESCRIBED DEFORMATIONS

Abstract

A method is developed for sizing the structural truss members of a dish antenna to assure retention of paraboloidal form and constant focal length during external loading. This method can be modified to suit other structural forms and deformation requirements. Since this method is most easily applied to statically determinate structures, a short discussion on the synthesis of rigid, firmly anchored, statically determinate trusses is given.
