INVESTIGATION OF STRESS DISTRIBUTION AND STRENGTH CHARACTERISTICS OF LOAD MAGNIFICATION ANVILS FOR ULTRA HIGH PRESSURE APPARATUS

Abstract

An investigation of the elastic stress distribution in load magnification anvils for ultrahigh pressure apparatus was made. Results are reported of analytical and photoelastic studies of 2 and 3 dimensional configurations that constitute idealized representations of the load magnification anvil system. (Author)
