A VARIATIONAL FORMULA FOR THE SCATTERING FROM N CONDUCTORS

Abstract

The far-scattered electric field and the backscattering cross section of an arbitrary number of perfect conductors are given in terms of a derived vector. A stationary, scale-invariant formula for the components of this vector is obtained, and from it a variational formula for the backscattering cross section of the conductors is developed. (Author)
