RE-EXAMINATION OF THE HISTAMINE FLARE TEST AS A SCREENING MEASURE FOR ALLERGIC SENSITIVITY

Abstract

Intradermal histamine injections and allergy skin tests were administered to allergic and nonallergic subjects. Results of the histamine test indicated no relationship to previous allergic history. Skin tests verified assignment of subjects to allergic and nonallergic groups. The nonallergic subjects, however, showed a median of 2 positive skin-test results--a finding which will be further investigated. (Author)
