AN EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION OF LIQUID DISTRIBUTION AND SURFACE CHARACTER IN HORIZONTAL ANNULAR TWO-PHASE FLOW

Abstract

An analysis of two-phase flow was performed. The model used considers the interfacial surface roughness and the relative velocity between the two phases. Expressions for the mean film thickness and the friction factor are obtained. Comparison of predicted film depths and friction coefficients with measured values shows agreement within the limits of the popular correlations. The agreement between theory and experiment is excellent when the experimental system approaches symmetry, a condition of the model. (Author)
