SURFACE RECOMBINATION OF MOLECULAR FRAGMENTS

Abstract

Experiments are being undertaken to study the reactions that occur when free radicals, a oms, or io s impinge upon various types of surface. A molecular beam containing free radicals, etc., is to impinge upon a prepared surface and the reaction products that are reflec ed or evaporated from the test surface are to beAN LYZED BY MEANS OF AN ANALYTICAL MASS PECTROMETER. Conditio s will be such that the analysis is uncomplicated by reactions in the gas phase or at walls of the apparatus. The instrumentation that has been designed and constructed for the exp rime ts is described. (Au or)
