HYDROSTATIC WATER LUBRICATION OF STEAMOTOR, APPENDIX 6
Abstract
Hydrostatic water lubrication of bearings of the Steamotor is being considered, as an alternative to oil lubrication. The feasibility of hydrostatic water lubrication of the Steamotor bearings is studied from the standpoints of the supply pressure, flow and power required to carry the design loads. In addition, the ability of the bearings to withstand high magnitude, short duration shock loads is investigated. (Author)
