OPTIMAL CONTROL IN BOUNDED PHASE SPACE

Abstract

A bounded phase space condition is derived for a restricted class of problems. The condition is proved to be a necessary condition for optimal control in a fixed time interval with free end point. If the system is linear, and the allowed regions of phase variables and controls are convex, the condition is both necessary and sufficient, for optimal control in a fixed time interval, as well as minimal time control between two fixed points.
