THE STRUCTURE OF A SHOCK WAVE IN AIR TAKING ACCOUNT OF THE KINETICS OF CHEMICAL REACTIONS

Abstract

Applications are cited for the practical use of a formula for solving the problem of temperature distribution and the concentrations of the components of dissociating air in the non-equilibrium region beyond the steep leading edge of a shock wave in rarefied air. The problems of the dissociation of oxygen and nitrogen, the dependence of the temperature in front of the wave on the velocity of the wave, and the density of the gas are analyzed. (Author)
