Abstract

T HE SELECTION OF THE ISCRIMINATOR BEST SUITE FOR A PARTICULAR TELEMETRY APPLICATION REQUIRES SOME KNOWLEDGE OF TYPICAL PERFORMANCE CHARACTERISTICS AND LIMITATIONS IMPOSED BY THE PRESENT STATE O THE ART. To aid in standardizing both di criminator design and procurement practices the general design characteristics of subcarrier discriminators are discussed, a summary of typical performance ranges of current models is presented, the adequacy of the performance pecificati ns is considered, an the important perational features are pointe out.
