BLAST TRANSMISSION INTO CHAMBERS

Abstract

Equations are derived for the pressure rise in a terminal room or chamber due to the propagation through a duct system of a transient pressure from an external blast pressure wave. Numerical values for the peak pressure in the chamber are given in terms of the parameters of the blast pressure wave and the characteristics of the duct-chamber system. The calculation of the relevant characteristics of the duct-chamber system is described and illustrated.
