DEVELOPMENT OF DAMPING TREATMENTS FOR DESTROYER HULLS

Abstract

Work was continued on the damping treatments for use on destroyer hulls, and other steel plates less than 3/4 inch thick. A flameresistant version of Monsanto's Treatment F-57 that can be processed more economically and that has equal, or better damping at 50 F than Treatment F-57 was developed. This new treatment is identified as Treatment 384-578. (Author)
