INVESTIGATION OF DESIGN CONSIDERATIONS FOR GLASS CLOTH REINFORCED STRUCTURAL MEMBERS
Abstract
Theoretical stress and deflection equations were determined for orthotropic beams in the particular case when the direction of the beam axis and one principal axis of the material coincide. Experimental data from simple rectangular section beams and from complex hat-section beams indicate good agreement between empirical resultsAND CALCULATED VALUES PREDICTED BY THE DERIVED EQUATIONS. esign considerations resulting from the theory developed and from empirical data are presented.
