AXI-SYMMETRIC VISCOUS FLOWS CORRECT TO THE FIRST-ORDER IN REYNOLDS NUMBER

Abstract

SLOW STEADY FLOWS ABOUT ARBITRARY BODIES ARE CONSIDERED IN A GENERAL FASHION. For flow fields extending to infinity, a solution valid to the first-order in Reynolds number throughout the flow field is achieved by matching an inner solution to an outer solution in the common region where both are of the steady Navier- Stokes equation.
