A PRELIMINARY STUDY OF THE ATTACK PHASE OF A TELEVISION-GUIDED AIR-TO-SURFACE GLIDE MISSILE

Abstract

THE RESULTS ARE PRESENTED OF A PRELIMINARY ANALYTICAL STUDY OF SOME OF THE BASIC PARAMETERS DEFINING THE TERMINAL ATTACK PHASE OF A TELEVISION-GUIDED AIR-TO-SURFACE MISSILE. It was not the intent of the study to design a particular system but to provide a technical background upon which to base comparisons of different airframe and optical configurations. The parameters of primary interest were missile velocity, target recognition range, maneuvering acceleration limit, target coverage area, and field of view. (Author)
