WATER TRANSFER FROM SOIL TO THE ATMOSPHERE AS RELATED TO SOIL PROPERTIES, PLANT CHARACTERISTICS AND WEATHER

Abstract

An investigation was made of major interrelated factors which influence the transfer of water from soil through plants to the atmosphere. Results are reported from three studies: (1) effect of temperature on relative vapor pressure of water in soil; (2) relation of psychrometric to membran us measurements of water in soil; and (3) evaporation from soil.
