BL-221 70GC MAGNETRON PRODUCTION ENGINEERING MEASURE

Abstract

Efforts concern the investigation of minor constructional modifications in the present BL-221 Magnetron design and the setting up of facilities capable of producing at a rate of 50 tubes per month. Sample tubes with Vac-Ion pumps were constructed. Work on standard design tubes for comparative study was initiated and the initial test results were compiled. Design work on the ceramic output window was initiated and experimental samples to develop effective techniques for making ceramic-to-metal seals, were built. Construction work on the life test kit was completed. (Author)
