STATIC AND DYNAMIC RESPONSES IN THE HOMEOSTAT JENNY

Abstract

Static responses in the Homeostat Jenny were measured. Steady-state output voltages are found to be single-valued linear functions of input voltage for all stable configurations tested of two, three, or four main variable elements. Chart oscillograms of dynamic responses to step voltage inputs show that by changing interconnections, scaling factors, the machine may be made stable and critically damped, stable with overshoot, or unstable.
