Objection Allocation of Mission Support Aircraft

Abstract

The allocation is complicated by the wide variety of tasks, the variety of aircraft-types available, and the rapid shifts in requirements caused by technological and political change. This problem was considered from two directions. First, a mathematical model has been constructed to show the kinds of information required by a completely objective allocation-system. This approach appears impractical at present. Second, an extension has been proposed for the present allocation system to permit consolidation of the separate intra-command priority lists now used. It is concluded that the procedure in use by AFOOP-AL-AM constitutes an excellent use of the objective data now available. Additional data, which may become available in the future, will permit useful extensions of that procedure.
