DEVELOPMENT OF A PROGRAM OF PROBIT ANALYSIS FOR AN IBM 650 COMPUTER

Abstract

Identifiers: Probit analysis. Research concerns a program developed for the IBM 650 magnetic drum data-processing machine; it may be divided conveniently into 3 parts. These are the adjustments of the raw data based upon the proposed probability model; the determination of the best fitting probit line to each set of data; and the combination of the individual solutions to provide a population estimate. The latter part includes an estimate of both the probit line and the variance about that line. (Author)
