VISCOELASTIC SUPPORT JUNCTION DAMPING OF BEAMS

Abstract

An experimental s udy wi ev luation of r levant theory, was conducte of the damping action at the support in erfaces of beams which incorporate visco-el stic bonding material. The obj ctive wa th identification of support junction damping techniqu s w ich might be of practic l use in vibration attenuation. It was found that the ig energy issipation ere ssociated with flexure and rotation of the beam ends embedded within the support structure. (Author)
