ULTRA HIGH TEMPERATURE DIELECTRIC EMBEDDING MATERIALS

Abstract

Investigations were conducted on using a devitrified sealing glass as a coating for a synthetic mica-phosphate dielectric embedding material. Various methods of applying the coating were studied; a hot dipping method was the most promising. The dielectric constant and power factor were measured for different coated samples and found to be satisfactory at temperatures up to 350 C. Several commercial high temperature resistors of the C film type were successfully encapsulated using ceramoplastic injection molding techniques in combination with the synthetic mica-phosphate embedding material.
