SUBMINIATURE, MULTILAYER, PRECISION CERAMIC CAPACITORS

Abstract

Work continued on subminiature, thin film dielectrc, ceramic capacitors. Capacitors with dielectric layers .0015 in. thick were fabricated and successfully fired with as many as three layers with few losses. Twenty-five experimental models, consisting of NPO and high K units with two .0015 in. thick dielectric layers and NPO units with three .0015 in. layers, were submitted. Samples with three layers exhibited capacitance values approximately 7.5 times those of standard Cerafil capacitors. The methods of fabricating the test pieces are described, the firing schedules are shown in graphs, and electrical data are presented in the form of tables. Modifications of the high K formula were tested in disc form and the data obtained are included in the form of tables. (Author)
