A THIN-PLATE BATTERY

Abstract

The results of demonstrating the feasibility of miniaturizing the NOL Liquid Ammonia Activated Cell were reported. The effect of varying such cell parameters as cell thickness, electrolyte concentration, activation pressure, and weight of cathode material, is being studied to optimize cell performance. Observations were made of cell performance at -40, 20, 100, and 140 F. Cells were activated for exploring the usefulness of some cathode additives, expanded Mg anodes, and plastic separators.
