FORCES ON A SLENDER BODY OF REVOLUTION IN ARBITRARY PLANAR MOTION IN A TRAIN OF GRAVITY WAVES

Abstract

The forces on a slender body of revolution in planar motion in a train of gravity waves are developed with no restriction being put on the angle the body axis makes with respect to the vertical. The results are shown to reduce to those of Munk, Breslin and Kaplan, and Cummins for the cases of no wave, vertical body, and horizontal body, respectively. (Author)
