ATALS OF MEAN MONTHLY ALBEDO OF ARCTIC SURFACES

Abstract

DESCRIPTORS: (*Vertical take-off planes, *Short take-off planes, Take-off, Flight path, Landing, Stabilization, Maneuverability, Pitch, Roll, Yaw, Control systems, Design, Moments, Effectiveness, Aviation safety.)A study is presented of piloting problems of vertic l t ke-off aircraft at low speeds, and with the steps taken to solve them It points out the need for angular stabilisation of the aircraft and describes the various ways of achieving it; t e advantages and disadvantages of each method are stressed, and the authors try to justify the choice of the system suggested. One section is devoted to the handling safety of such sy tem together with a description of the devices developed to achieve this safety. Particular mention is made of the control instrum nts which are suitable for the piloting of vertical take-off aircraft. (Author)
