A BROADBAND DIRECTIONAL ANTENNA

Abstract

A STUDY WAS MADE OF A BROADBAND DIRECTIONAL ANTENNA IN THE FORM OF PERIODIC S RUC URE. To obtain good directional characteristics in free space as well as near the E rth' surface and to be matched over a wide frequency range in a tructurally imple d vice the antenna is build as a flat system of balanced dipol s fed by a balanced line. The length of the legs of the dipoles and the spacing between the dipoles vari s in proportion to the distance from the beginning of the antenna, and each successive dipole is excited in antiphase relative to the previous one.
