STUDIES AND INSTRUMENTATION RELATING TO HIGH ENERGY DENSITY PLASMA EXPERIMENTS

Abstract

Part I is the abstract of Scientific Report No. 1, Very Low Gas Pressure Breakdown Using Secondary Electrons, describing results and instrumentation of experiments on very low pressure gas breakdown. Part II is an abstract of Scientific Report No. 2, Plasma Betatron Problems describing the development of measurement techniques for the investigation of the high energy density induction plasma accelerator referred to as the plasma betatron. Part III discusses further developments in the plasma betatron and low gas pressure breakdown, supporting equipment, and measurement instrumentation for the study of transient phenomena connected with magnetically driven plasmas and exploding wires. It includes particle accelerator studies, water capacitor energy storage studies, and instrumentation. (Author)
