FLYING QUALITY REQUIREMENTS FOR UNITED STATES NAVY AND AIR FORCE AIRCRAFT
Abstract
The history of flying quality requirements for United States military aircraft is briefly reviewed, and significant aspects in the establis ment and use of these requirements are discussed. Major features of the current military flyi g quality specific io r pr c r b 5b for specific requirements are outlined. Attention is focused on certain recent flying quality research results, relating primarily to airframe dynamics, and inadequacies of the current specification are noted. The effects of recent advances in automatic stabilization and control, display presentations, and control system design are discussed, and a new interesting approach to flying quality requirements is presented.
