SOME ANOMALIES IN THE STUDY OF IONOSPHERIC DRIFTS

Abstract

The ionosphere is irregular in its usual state: it consists of ionized formations-irregul rities. There is a wide range in the dimensions of these formations; hey rift regularly, ch ng randomly and disp rse. T HI REPORT CONCERNS SEVERAL ANOM LOUS FEATURES IN THE BEHAVIOR OF AN IRREGULAR IONOSPHERE WHICH MAKE IT POSSIBLE TO HYPOTH SIZ THE DYNAMICS OF THE LATTER AND TO CONCENTRATE ON THE IMPORTANT ASPECTS OF THE INVESTIGATIVE METHOD. This work is based on the tudy of large ionospheric irregularities made during the IGY program for the period January, 1957 - January, 1958. (Author)
