DEPOSITION OF ALLOYS BY CHEMICAL REDUCTION

Abstract

A literature survey was made on electroless plating and a historical report on its development is given. The deposition of alloys of Ni, Co, and alloy combinations of Ni, Cr and Fe were explored, the basis metal being steel, Al or Mg. Co and Ni were successfully plated on steel and Al, as was the plating of Ni on Mg. Stannate coating of Mg was also undertaken with success.
