PARAMAGNETIC RESONANCE SPECTRA OF RARE EARTH IONS IN THE CRYSTAL FIELD OF CALCIUM FLUORIDE

Abstract

Paramagnetic resonance data of various rare earth ions in the crystal field of calcium fluoride are presented. It is found that there are at least three types of symmetries, cubic, axial, and trigonal. Some spectra of Cerium (3+), Ytterbium (3+), Erbium (3+), and Neodymium (3+) are presented.
