MATHEMATICAL METHODS IN THE STUDY OF WAVE PROPAGATION IN INHOMOGENEOUS MEDIA

Abstract

A study has been made of methods of solution of Maxwell's equations in inhomogeneous isotropic plasmas. The results include a discussion of a general method of reduction, for a variety of coordinate systems, of Maxwell's equations to scalar differential equations for the separate field components.
