THE INFLUENCE OF RECOVERY ON RECRYSTALLIZATION IN ALUMINUM

Abstract

IDENTIFIERS: Recrystallization. The kinetics of isothermal recrystallization in dilute, polycrystalline alloy of Cu in zone-re ined Al cold rolled 40% at 0 C obey the equation sq. Bt = 1 - exp - X sub V under annealing conditions or which the driving force for recrystallization is essentiall constant. The rates of isothermal recrystallization were retarded under special conditions in certain of the alloys. The retarding effect resulted from a decrease in the linear rate of gr wth of the recrystallized grains as a function f annealing time. Recovery and recrystallization overlap to a large extent in these Al-ba alloys. Increasing impurity content fav re recovery over recry tallizati n. Calorimetric measure ents on the Al alloy containing 0.0068 at - % Cu revealed 2 distinct pattern of energ release uring recovery annealing.
