STRATOSPHERIC WIND TEMPERATURE AND ISOBARIC HEIGHT CONDITIONS DURING THE IGY PERIOD, PART I

Abstract

The lower stratospheric conditions for the first six months of the IGY are given. The geographical distribution of several statistical quantities which might be useful for the understanding of the general circulation in the lower stratosphere are presented. The vertical and latitudinal dependence of the zonal mean values of several meteorological quantities are also included. (Author)
