A HIGH-FREQUENCY APPLICATION OF THE SILICON-CONTROLLED RECTIFIER

Abstract

An inverter utilizing the silicon-controlled rectifier, capable of generating high power at high frequency, is described. A brief theoretical summary of the operation of the device is included, followed by an analysis of the inverter. Design procedures and graphs are developed that make possible the design of such an inverter based upon design criteria. An experimental model for operation at 15 kc was designed and tested. Results indicated that approximately 500 w of power can be obtained with this particular model. (Author)
