HIGH-FREQUENCY ANTENNA TECHNIQUES

Abstract

The i vestigation of the properties of singleand double-wire slot antennas (used as low-height vertically polarized radiators) was continued. A mo ification in the configura ion resulted in a total of three physical parameters that can be varied to provide an optimum combination of electrical properties. One design was omnidirectional and had an SWR of less than 2 over a bandwidth of nearly 6:1. Another indicated that configurations that are of the order of 1/100 lambda high have excellnt vertically polarized patterns and can be matched with ease over a very narrow bandwidth--less than 1 percent. Many intermediate models were i vestigated. (Author)
