ENERGY CONVERSION IN LAMINAR MAGNETOHYDRODYNAMIC CHANNEL FLOW

Abstract

The aim of this investigation was to develop a clear and detailed understanding of laminar conduction and induction-driven magnetohydrodynamic channel flows, and of the ways in which they can operate as energy converters. The development proceeds from the fundamental equations of incompressible magnetohydrodynamics to the fundamental solutions for the fluid velocity and the magnetic field, and thence to the basic energyconversion properties of the flow.
