CERAMIC I-F TRANSFORMERS

Abstract

Research and development concerns the design of improved ferroel ctric ceramic filters, IF tran for rs a network in the frequency rang bove 1 mc. Objectives are reliability, miniaturization, and improved performance charac eristics over conventional filters i hi r nge Realization of pi zo l ctric ceramic filters and networks in the form of two dimensional wafers depends principally on the existence of well be aved do -r onators, and appropriate methods for controlli g heir characteristics. To this end, an investigation into the adjustment of dot-resonator frequency by con rol of electrode thickness was initiated. Elec roplating techniques have produced frequency changes of 2 0 kc at 10 mc before he resonator response degrades. Ev por tio ec niques on the other hand hav to date produced 300 kc changes without deleterious effect Feasibility of packaging Uni-Wafer filters was also emon tr UT OR
