HIGH POWER PULSE CABLE ASSEMBLIES

Abstract

Research was conducted on the optimum design of the high power pulse cable connector assemblies for cables RG-191/U and RG-192/U. A previous design was studied to determine methods of improving the electrical characteristics while simplifying the construction and reducing the weight and costs of these assemblies. A design layout and detailing of the component parts were prepared for the manufacture of experimental models. New materials, design of molds, dies, and fixtures were selected to simplify the assembly and speed production of mechanical parts. Special equipment was chosen for testing experimental models, assembling and testing of first experimental models, subsequent minor design changes, and compiling and evaluating of test results from the experimental assemblies.
