ACCELERATORS, COLLECTION OF ARTICLES

Abstract

Theoretical and experimental studies on linear electron accelerators, betatrons and synchrotrons, and work on ion sources for cyclotrons are described. The cycle of theoretical studies on particle capture under acceleration conditions in betatrons and synchrotrons contains mathematical solutions to this problem, taking into account questions of collective particle interaction in the beam, and the inductive properties of this beam at the instant of its appearance and its cut-off. The series of experimental investigations deal with various problems of measurements at microwave frequencies, elements of linear electron accelerators and cyclotrons, and a special study of a linear-cyclic accelerator (the elutron), proposed several years ago.
