PULSED MAGNETIC-FIELD MILLIMETER WAVE GENERATOR

Abstract

ON THE PULSED GENERATOR USING CRYSTALLINE ANISOTROPY FIELD, THE THEORY HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO ALLOW MORE DETAILED PREDICTIONS OF THE EXPECTED PROPERTIES OF THE DEVICE. A first experimental test of this device has been made, yielding negative results. This can be accounted for at present by unexpectedly large linewidth in the first single-crystal ZnY ferrite samples fabricated for this device. Work is continuing on the detailed theoretical study of the motion of magnetization in transient magnetic fields. The aim at present is to extend the analysis to include the case of large pulsing angles. (Author)
