RESEARCH ON THE EFFECTS OF HYDROCARBON FUELS ON THE OPERATION OF VAPOR PHASE FUEL SYSTEMS

Abstract

The enthalpy of a special JP-6 was evaluated and appeared to vary only with the residence time in the calorimeter. Tube-to-fuel heat transfer data were correlated by means of a modified heattransfer variable and found to vary with residence time and system pressure. Evaluations with a simulated spraybar were carried out and are described as are the results of analyses of the gaseous products of the decomposed fuel. (Author)
