PERMUTATION SYMMETRY OF THE TREE-ELECTRON PROBLEM

Abstract

The properties of three-electron wave functions connected with a Hamiltonian, which is symmetric in all three coordinates and commutes with the spin operators, are discussed from two points of view: conventional group theory and Lowdin's method based on the use of mutually commuting, normal constants of motion.
