RESPONSE SET FACTORS REVEALED BY FACTOR ANALYSIS OF AN UNCONFOUNDED ITEM POOL

Abstract

The current research deals with three kinds of response sets which have been discussed at length by other investigators: acquiescence, social desirability (SD), and tendency to make deviant responses, or, conversely, common responses. These response sets and their interaction with content in a specially constructed 44-item truefalse hostility scale are investigated. (Author)
