CONSTRUCTION OF DEFLECTRON CATHODE-RAY TUBES

Abstract

Construction of deflectron cathode-ray tubes is presented. Procedures and problems encountered in the development of six cathode-ray tube types utilizing the internal electrostatic yoke deflection system are outlined. Construction information is given on single-gun and two-gun tubes utilizing conical and cylindrical Deflectrons. Two matrix character-writing guns were constructed using up to four Deflectrons per tube. Information and procedures on cathode-ray tube construction, barrier mask techniques, and Deflectron manufacture are presented. (Author)
