THE INCORPORATION OF PHYSICAL PARAMETERS IN THE OBJECTIVE SPECIFICATION OF CLOUDINESS

Abstract

IT WAS DESIRED TO DEVELOP OBJECTIVE METHODS FOR SPECIFYING THE EXISTENCE OF SIGNIFICANT CLOUDINESS (over 50 per cent coverage) on a regional scale at time of analysis. Attempts were made to determine meaningful relationships between visual and rawinsonde data in order to provide more usable information than would be obtainable from individual sources. (Author)
