DEPOSITION FOR THE PRODUCTION OF STRUCTURE

Abstract

Studies were continued to examine the various deposition parameters involved in fabricating alloy specimens by electroforming, an electrocombination method, and vapor deposition. The problem areas involved in scaling-up from small laboratory research vessels to pilot-sized equipment were reviewed and re-visited. Deposits produced were examined for composition variance and preliminary physical property qualities. Process controls for each deposition system were evaluated. Aspects of reliability and joinability were studied from the structural integrity standpoint. (Author)
