ANALYSIS OF MEANS OF AIR-LAYING WIRES AND CABLES WITH SUFFICIENT SLACK

Abstract

IN AIR-LAYING WIRES AND CABLES, IT IS NECESSARY TO LAY SUFFICIENT SLACK TO AVOID BREAKS, PARTICULARLY OVER ROUGH TERRAIN. To overcome this problem, an analysis was made which shows that the needed slack can be obtained by a suitable adjustment between the height of the aircraft and its ground-speed or vice versa.
