AOMC CLIMATOLOGICAL RINGBOOK. PART XVI. EMPIRICAL FREQUENCY DISTRIBUTIONS OF WIND COMPONENTS AT CONSTANT ALTITUDE LEVELS. ALERT, ELLESMERE ISLAND, CANADA

Abstract

This publication presents climatological parameters of scalar winds, zonal and meridional wind components, semiplanar winds and wind shear at 1 km altitude intervals for the location Alert, Ellesmere Island, Canada. The frequency distributions have been established for 12 monthly and the annual reference periods with values of cumulative percentage frequency corresponding to the mean and plus and minus one, two and three sigma levels of normal distribution. The statistical information is based on the observational period July 1953 - June 1958. (Author)
